Quarterly check in

Quarterly check in

Yesterday was time for my quarterly progress that I will do every three months. I took measurements and photos to assess where I am at and where I need to go. This week I am also starting my training for a powerlifting competition in October. More on that later this week.

I was surprised and not surprised when I looked at the results. I had taken measurements and photos in mid-January and then again in mid-March. For the most part, everything was pretty much the same, but a few surprises.

Biggest surprise was that the weight was the same at 250 pounds, but a three-inch loss in the belly. Another example that the scale does not tell the whole story. There was a three inch gain in the shoulders, but I attribute that to the measuring itself. I had different friends take that measurement, so that could easily account for the discrepancy. I can take all of the measurements myself, except for chest and shoulders.

I will check in again in the middle of June to see where things are at.  I will be much more active with baseball, so there is always that to take into account. And the long winter months typically mean holding onto fat, especially when I don’t walk as much as I should.
